Shade Bright® FAQ’s
Universal Vacuum Cleaning Tool for Window Treatments
Q: Why the Shade Bright® universal shade & drapery cleaning tool?
A: Simple, it’s the only universal cleaning attachment like it! Specifically designed for cleaning of fabric window coverings, the Shade Bright® shade & drapery cleaning tool safely, effectively and effortlessly removes allergen accumulators such as dust, dust mites (and their deposits), grime and dirt from shades to provide a healthier home or work place for you and your family. Additionally, regular, consistent cleaning of your window treatments with our product will prolong the life of your investment, saving you hundreds of dollars or more in replacement costs.
Q: How does the Shade Bright® cleaning tool work?
A: Shade Bright® provides superior cleaning power due to direct contact, controlled suction with the shade surface. As the Shade Bright® tool is placed flush and moved firmly along the fabric of the shade or window treatment, our diffusion plate creates a smooth, equally distributed consistent suction that gently lifts and removes allergen accumulators (dust, dust mites & their fecal deposits, dirt, pollen, etc.) from the shade surface. Shade Bright® leaves you with an end result of a brighter, dust free, allergen free shade and a healthier environment.
Q: What type of shades or fabrics can I use the Shade Bright® cleaning tool on?
A: Shade Bright® universal shade & drapery cleaning tool can be safely used on any style of window covering fabric from any manufacturer (shades or draperies) in any configuration! Examples include: SILHOUETTE®, DUETTE®, VIGNETTE®, PIROUETTE®, NANTUCKET®, LUMINETTE®, Shangri-La®, Honeycomb, Pleated, Roman, Verticals and more. Our Shade Bright® tool also works well on woven woods, roller shades, screens & screen shades and bolted in top treatments such as cornice boards, swags and valances. Shade Bright® cleaning tool is so versatile; use it on any fabric covered surface such as pool tables, office partition walls, mattresses, lampshades and more!
Q: How does the Shade Bright® tool compare vs. the brush attachment?
A: The brush attachment requires mechanical agitation to loosen the contaminants on the surface of the shade. This agitation process disturbs the settled accumulators which in turn are circulated back into the environment that we breathe! Of the remaining undisturbed contaminates, only a small percentage may be captured due to the distance of the vacuum suction port in proximity of the shade surface. In addition, excessive mechanical agitation may also cause irreversible damage to the fabric of the shade and/or weaken the glue lines.
The Shade Bright® shade & drapery cleaning tool’s revolutionary design utilizes direct, controlled suction contact with the shade surface with NO agitation required! As a result, the contaminants are safely and gently removed from the shades surface and deposited into your vacuum cleaner, NOT back into the environment.
Q: How does the Shade Bright® tool compare vs. the upholstery attachment?
A: The upholstery attachment is designed for just that, upholstery! The upholstery attachment is too harsh for your thinner, more delicate shade fabrics that are held together with glue! The upholstery attachment provides maximum suction with NO suction control. Its open faced design allows for your shade to be sucked into the attachment, potentially causing irreversible damage to the fabric and/or glue line distortion or separation!
Shade Bright® cleaning tool was designed specifically for fabric window treatments and shades with delicate glue lines in mind! Shade Bright® shade & drapery cleaning tool cleans safely and effectively without the worries of over suctioning!
Q: Does Shade Bright® work with all vacuum cleaners?
A: Shade Bright® cleaning tool was designed to be compatible with most brand name vacuum & central vacuum systems. Our friction fit tapered design will accommodate hoses with inside diameters (I.D.) of 1 1/8 to 1 3/4 inches. In some cases, the provided universal adapter may be required to achieve optimal fit.
Q: Does the Shade Bright® cleaning tool have “wet” capabilities?
A: Yes! The Shade Bright® cleaning tool has both dry & wet capabilities! Shade Bright® cleaning tool is a GREAT water extraction tool for both the do-it-yourselfer (DIY’s) and Professional Blind Cleaners. Whether cleaning shades in a tub or using Ultrasonic Technology, safely extracting this excess water will expedite the drying time. *Always select the appropriate vacuum type (wet vs. dry) suitable for the job at hand.
Q: How often should I use the Shade Bright® cleaning tool on my shades?
A: We recommend a bi-weekly cleaning regiment during the summer months (windows open, traffic volume, etc.) or as needed based on contaminant accumulation. In the fall and winter months, a minimum of a monthly cleaning is recommended. Consistency in maintenance is the key to protecting your window covering investment! The Shade Bright® cleaning tool makes “cleaner shades, healthier homes” a possibility for your family.
